Grace Caroline Gibb

Grace Caroline Gibb

Okay, so here goes my attempt at "blogging".

Today, at 11:38 AM our eighth child was born, Grace Caroline Gibb; a beautiful 8 lbs 15 oz, 19-1/2" baby girl. She has black hair and a healthy set of lungs. A recent poll concluded that 99% of all people found her to be perfect in every way. The remaining 1%, upon further questioning, admitted to spending excessive amounts of time engaged in omphaloskepsis and, oddly enough, are Super Delegates voting for Barack Obama. Go figure.

Here's some pictures of the days events and a video I got Spielberg to do for me.

Love the sappy music!

It was great having all the visitors. I failed to get pictures of them, but Art & Lisa and their kids came for a visit. Thanks everyone!

At one point we had all our kids, David & Roberta, G'ma Adcock, and Ben, Kami, and Gabe Adcock all visiting at the same time. It was baptism by fire for Grace, considering what it will be like when she comes home. At the hospital it was a constant battle between the kids to see who got to hold her. With seven siblings constantly fighting over holding rights, Grace will be lucky to learn to crawl by the time she's five.

Jarom, who was very excited to see the new baby.

When we first announced some months ago that we were going to have another baby the kids immediately began choosing sides, gender-wise. The girls wanted a girl, the boys a boy. When we found out the gender and let the kids know, Jarom, who REALLY wanted a younger brother, yelled, "It's gonna be stupid!" and began to cry. It took some consoling, but he is now excited to be a big brother to a little sister.

Hi! Blogging Babe here. Love the video, sappy music and all. Grace is beautiful, she must have some good genes. And I love that you added the Jarom story at the end. I loved hearing it a few months ago and still love it. Can't wait to see more posts. I'll check back quarterly.

Hi--Can't wait to be one of the "holders" too. Meanwhile, give her lots of hugs and kisses from her Arizona grandma.

Dad said you really went the extra mile taking a piano into the delivery room. What a guy!

Ok! Bart. We love Grace but I would like to see some more of your family. I know with 8 kids you should be able to find SOMETHING to post. I'll keep checking back.
